They say the eyes are the windows to the soul, but this blog is one of the few to mine.

I'm Kristin. I'm 19 years old. I'm the kind of person who looks down while walking to try to avoid stepping on bugs because I believe that every life is precious. Animals and my loved ones are what my heart beats for. I'm vegan because I respect and love all beings. Stitching words together on paper is my therapy and passion. All I really want to do is to make a difference in the world.

My Writing
Who is this?

I haven’t been on Tumblr lately, if at all really. I’ve been so busy. My laptop broke and the semester started again, but I just saw a post that really got on my nerves. It’s not just this post. In fact, it’s many posts. Many people on here have the same exact type of posts, actually. Let me clue you in on what I’m referring to.

Someone posts something that someone else disagrees with. The person who disagrees with the person’s initial posting takes it upon themself to say something to them. It doesn’t go over well because, 1. They aren’t civil in their disagreement and 2. Neither is the other person. They toss around insults as if it’s going to prove their point or open up the other person’s eyes, ears, or heart. It’s not. All it does it angers them further and destroys any little chance you may have had at explaining yourself and them understanding your point of view.

So stop insulting people when you’re trying to get through to them. It doesn’t help you and it doesn’t help them. It doesn’t make you look cool. It certainly gives you no credentials. If anything, it takes any that you may have had away. Channel that anger towards something beneficial to someone. Go write a book or read one.

There’s a difference between a logical argument and a fight. What most have on Tumblr and anywhere, as far as that is concerned, is a fight. Pick your fights for things that matter and fight with logical arguments when you do.
